David's Mighty Dance listen now.
Audio Transcription is below.
Hello, this is Jocelyn Richard, and welcome to Motivation for Ministry.
Listen, I was reading to day again, 2 Samuel 6:14 and it talks about how
David danced before the Lord with all of his might.
And that dance he did was a very vibrant, masculine dance. It wasn't a
pirouette on point.
But it was leaping, and jumping, and twirling aimlessly and vibrantly for
his God.
Now why did David dance before the Lord with all his might?
Well let me tell you something it wasn't for a worship conference or for a
special Christmas program at church or for performance and a wonderful
theater or for exercise are getting in shape. But this dance was a gift for God.
It was an act of devotion and appreciation to his Lord for giving him a second chance.
It was also appreciation to God for his presence, for the Arc of the Lord
just was returned today, after many years.
And the Arc represents God's presence. So our dance is really an act of gratitude
and devotion to the Lord for his presence.
I want to encourage you to incorporate a mighty, powerful dance in your devotion
time with the Lord! Listen, I'm a dance minister, I'm a dance teacher.
I teach in the community, I help churches throughout North America start dance ministries,
and I'm always talking and teaching leaders.
But sometimes I forget that really my main purpose for my dance is to worship Jesus.
And it's important for you and me to spend time alone giving this dance back to the Lord. Not only for church, not only for the community or whether were involved in a dance company, or teaching, or to get in shape, or to lose
weight. But really like David did, let's get up in the morning and let's pray verbally, and let's sing. But
also, put on some music and just twirl before the Lord, leap before the Lord, dance, bow, lift up your hands before Jesus. Give your dance back to the Lord as an instrument of devotion to Him, out of appreciation for His presence in your life. I guarantee that the Lord will find so much delight in this dance. And He will delight over you with a dance. And you will get closer to your Father, and enjoy your time together in an even more and intimate way. Well, that's all for today here in North America at Motivation for Ministry. Thank you so much for listening, and please keep in touch, may contact with me. I want this to be a dialog, not just me talking, but us talking with each other together. I
would love to hear from you. God bless. Until next time, remember to enjoy the praise dance life.
